Some Things About Me


 Hello, my name is Kaitlyn Morales and I am 18 years old and I am Crown Point.   Through out the few months that we were stuck inside because of the pandemic you definitely learn a lot about yourself. The good, and the bad. This is a picture a took during the beginning of the quarantine and at that moment I did not realize how much I was going to grow as a person in those few months we were in lockdown. That picture is a scared little girl not knowing what she is doing to do or achieve with her life, to now being a young adult who knows what they want and will do what she need to succeed makes herself truly happy.

An interesting fact I have always had a fascination with animals and taking care of them, and after trying to figure out what to do as a career I recently have became very interested in becoming a veterinarian because of my love of animals. This is such an important goal for me to reach. I also have a dog named Ginger that I absolutely adore, which definitely motivates me more to become a vet. 

To finish off my first blog post I would like to say I am definitely not a strong writer. English is a subject in school that I have always struggled with so if this blog is a little all over the place that's why. Moreover, I am glad we get to do these blogs in a way to express ourselves and let our classmates take a look into our thoughts.

    Hey Kaitlyn! I also commute to campus, but I'm from Michigan City. I agree with your statements about quarantine, I felt the same way. I think it's great that in the past year you found out a lot about yourself and set some major goals. Post a picture of GInger in your next blog! As far as the English goes, I think this blog was great and I think the class will be okay. Just make sure if you ever feel like you need extra help or want someone to review something you can ask me, the professor, and probably anyone else in class too!

Best Friend

 Growing up I was a very shy kid and sometimes I still am pretty shy. I met Anna when we were in first grade and ever since then we were inseparable. Almost every weekend we would hang out with each other with another girl we used to be really close with. Thoughts on Holy Hell

  The Movie I watched for this project is Holy Hell (2014) dir. Will Allen. This documentary explains Allens time in a spiritual group called Buddahfest. While I was watching this film I found a few things that I would say disturbed me. One in particular was when they were doing the transfer of energy from the master. The scene of the girl getting this performed and her  seeming in pain and afterwards falling to the ground is so strange to me. There a point where David Christopher is explaining his experience with this and he says he begins to convulse. It confuses me how one man could have so much power over somebody.  Another thing that disturbed me was when Michele had to leave in fear of his group being called a cult and he took only a few people with him. It was very weird to see the the video messages his other followers sent to him. Halloween

 I feel like Halloween is definitely one of my favorite holidays, besides Christmas. I think the excitement when you are a little kid  getting home from school and rushing to eat dinner so you can get ready to go trick or treat really sticks with you as you become an adult, and although you aren't going trick or treating anymore I still find it very exciting to pass out candy and see all the little kids Halloween costumes. Getting to see the excitement you once had in another little just makes you feel so happy. Another thing that makes Halloween one of my favorites is the fun activities you get to do during the month like going to the pumpkin patch carving pumpkins or going to the apple orchard. Watching scary movies to make the nights pass by. I really think that Halloween will continue to be one of my favorites especially as I get older and eventually start a family. I think it will just bring all of those memories back.
